All these years I’ve been exercising, and I never really got around to taking any cycling classes. I’ve heard a lot about the benefits but didn’t actually get around to trying it. Recently I discovered a new indoor cycling studio called ‘EvolvCycle‘, and I decided to try them, and see what all the hype is about. Their located in Studio City which is only a few minutes away from my house so I grabbed one of my girlfriends and we decided to give it a go.
Let me just begin by saying how clean, and spa-like their studio felt as soon as we walked in. Most of their decorations are white which gave me a sense of relaxation as soon as I walked in. The studio is very inviting and the staff super friendly and helpful. Since it was our first time there the staff did a wonderful job of getting us situated with the locker rooms, and also helped adjust our cycling bike seats and feet panels.
Walking into the cycling room instantly helps you get into a workout groove because the lights are slightly dimmed at first, and there is nice upbeat music in the background. Once everyone is ready the instructor begins by playing a high-intensity playlist of music (sort of like a DJ). All the lights get completely dimmed out so it’s nice and dark with some neon lighting to guide you. You start with different levels of intensity which includes ranges of seating and standing peddling sessions. The instructor pretty much guides you on the different levels of intensity. The class lasts about 45 minutes but let me just say it gets intense, and also slightly challenging.
During the session your entire body is in motion, but I definitely felt most of the workout in my legs, upper thighs, inner thighs, gluts, and core abdominal areas. I am not a big cardio person and I usually do cardio by doing total body movements with weights instead of treadmills so this was another way to do great cardio. It should help slim down your lower body, and shape up your leg muscles if performed 2-3 times a week. My friend and I were completely covered in sweat by the time we finished.
Also loved their boutique retail shop within the studio. They carry quality and hip work-out attire, delicate fashion jewelry, boxed water, premium high-end candles, and much more.
Locker room nice amenities for use, a shower area, and was super clean. I hear their studio also offers ‘Release Rides’ on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 pm – 1 pm, which is where people can use the studio as if it were a gym, and do their own workout on the bikes. There’s no instructor present and they create playlists or have a movie going on in the background.
Overall I loved the experience and I would highly recommend them for weight loss, and muscle definition. Really fun way to work out alone or even with friends. Click to learn more about their schedule of cycling classes. Your first cycling class with them is about $12, and after that normal rides go for $27 a session. They also offer a variety of different packages which is available on their website. Comment and leave a feedback if you try them too! 🙂
